Pregnancy And Bath
We went to the countryside for the weekend. Nature, fresh air… beauty!
There I went with my husband to the bath … but returning, I wondered, can I go to the bath during pregnancy … and this is what I found out.
Visiting bath doesn’t do any harm to a pregnant woman, on the contrary, it can be very useful. Before visiting you should learn the subtleties of bath art.
Can pregnant go to bath?
Many obstetricians prohibit pregnant women attending bath or sauna. In fact, woman needs going to the bath. Why do people go to bath?
To relax, gain strength and positive emotions, cleanse the soul and body – in short, to have fun.
It seems as if we wash away everything alien, superficial and superfluous.
In the hot atmosphere of the steam room all background information is relegated to the background. Rubbing salt cleans and pores skin. Honey inflicted on the body, nourishes and regenerates the skin. But be careful not to causeallergies! A cool shower or bath after the swimming pool continues the process of revitalizing the body. Hot tea with honey and lemon also helps to remove all unnecessary things. Visiting bath excellently trains respiratory and circulatory system; improves blood supply to the placenta and prevents premature aging. All of this is prevention of intrauterine fetal hypoxia and gestosis of pregnant women, takes a higher tone of the uterus. Most actively responds to
the bath circulatory system and detoxification. Under the influence of the steam, skin disease (urticaria, itching) during pregnancy may regress or even disappear. Taking the bath strengthens the immune system, retreating colds, flu, SARS. Pregnant women, who regularly visited the bath during labor, have significantly less pain likely requiring admission antispasmodics and analgesics. This is associated with an increase in the elasticity of the ligamentous device, reduction of excessive muscle tension, the positive influence of baths on the autonomic nervous system and psyche.
Bath is absolutely contraindicated in acute inflammatory diseases with high fever, epilepsy, cancer, coronary heart disease, hypertension, II and III stage. You can not go to the bath with bronchial asthma, after recent surgical interventions, with complicated pregnancies (threat interrupts, placenta previa, high blood pressure).
Before the sauna you should consult with a gynecologist!
What should be remembered when visiting a steam room
The head should always be covered with something. There are special hats.
Do not outstay in the steam room. It is better to go there a few times, than once staying for a long time.
Pregnancy: Vitamins and Minerals
Human body is a well-established system of interaction mechanisms and natural nutrients. Everyone must be considerate to all the processes taking place inside him, and be able to recognize signals that our body sends. After all, if we treat ourselves with care and love, our body responds to us in return.
Conversely, if we do not notice the signals sent by our body, then over time it just stops sending them. And we won’t be able to treat ourselves. Mostly women must think about this when planning a child or when they are already pregnant. Every mother wants a beautiful, healthy and strong baby. If a woman eats properly and fully receives the necessary amount of vitamins and minerals, she can count on a powerful little fellow. If you are planning a child, then you should think about a special pregnancy diet.
Remember that baby gets all the vitamins and minerals necessary for its growth and health from his mother. Woman’s body contains trillion different cells. In order to control their normal functioning pregnant women should constantly receive vitamins and other beneficial substances. This can be done only through well-balanced meal. Do not forget that during pregnancy a woman is experiencing tremendous overload, because her body is working for two.
Every cell in the body carries out its role, so it is important to provide nutrients to each of them. The interaction of these cells, in general, provides a healthy, strong baby.
One of the most important elements is iron. It is present in large quantities in the blood. Above we said that our body is a unique tool of interaction. Therefore, the lack or decrease of one substance in the chain entails a decrease in another. The lack of this element impacts on the overall state of health. When pregnant women have iron deficiency
they will have headache, uterine cramps, etc.
So you see how the lack of one substance leads to serious consequences. Now imagine that there are several substances. If the expectant mother does not want to be exposed to such diseases and harm your child, she should supply the body with vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids. Carelessness may entail dire consequences (the loss of the fetus or the birth of weak and sick child).
Expectant mothers should carefully select vitamin supplements, because they are different on the content of the most indispensable substances. Take supplements containing magnesium and vitamin D. In the body, these two substances play a huge role. First, they provide the bones with calcium. Second, calcium and magnesium support to the optimum performance of the muscles. Do not forget that the main muscle is the heart, but it feels more pressure because it works for both. Therefore, the recommended dose of magnesium for pregnant is about 500 mg per day. It is noteworthy that the amount of magnesium is not shown in blood tests. Because it is contained in the cells themselves, and its level in the blood is consistently supported by the bones and the muscles. Woman must ensure adequate consumption of magnesium. However, magnesium can provoke diarrhea, so its use splits throughout the day.
We think these examples are enough to see how the selection of vitamins and minerals is needed for healthy expectant mother and baby.
In this issue there can be little things, so take everything with utmost seriousness and responsibility and your child will be grateful.
Massage During Pregnancy
Many women have some pains in back during pregnancy; they can feel the tension or numbness in various parts of the body. Gentle massage can help them ease this state. In addition, it will help you to alleviate the state of insomnia, back pain, edema, headache, and other possible ailments during pregnancy.
Before birth:
Pain in the back very often appears during pregnancy (as well as during breastfeeding). To facilitate such a pain you should do massage of back, neck, legs and feet, massage stomach with very soft movements. Many pregnant women have difficulties in circulation of fluids, this condition can be corrected with the help of general body massage that will stimulate and improve the movement of blood. Feet massage will help to relax, relieve the pain in legs and reduce swelling. During this massage, avoid areas with veins varicose (if there is any).
Those women who have problems with sleep, relaxing effects of massage will help them calm down and relax. Some pregnant women say that the soft abdominal massage helps to ensure that the child calms down and falls asleep too.
Massage relaxes and soothes, and helps to alleviate the unpleasant physical sensations, as well as enables your partner or children to help you and take part in your pregnancy.
Consult a doctor before you begin a massage. If the doctor does not recommend a stomach and back massage, you can conduct face, neck, feet and hands massage, this massage will help the body to relax very well.
When and how to massage:
While some schools of massage do not recommend holding it in the first three months of pregnancy, many women think that a light massage throughout pregnancy is very useful. When you massage a pregnant woman, all movements should be very soft and accurate, especially in the abdomen and waist. Do not use a strong press and strikes.
You can add a few drops of aromatic oils in your massage oil.
During massage it is recommended to use the following aromatic oils: Mandarin, ylang-ylang, Geranium, lemon, sandalwood, tea tree.
Aromatic oils, which are not recommended: anise, arnica, basil, mint, cypress, fennel, jasmine, juniper and marjoram.
Summer Pregnancy: Sunbathing And Swimming
Summer pregnancy practically does not differ from winter or autumn. This is from the viewpoint of the processes in the future mother’s organism: she continues to gain weight and a child is developing. Rapidly the street temperature is rising up, bright sun, and sultriness create additional stress on the future mothers’ body. But if the pregnancy proceeds without complications without suffering toxemia, there is no threat to abortion; she can afford all the flavors of summer holidays, of course, within reasonable limits.
Pregnancy is not a reason to abandon the dream of beautiful sunburn. Moreover, child likes lying in the sun (starting from 16 weeks of pregnancy, a pipsqueak already sees the light and feels the warm). And sunlight contributes the vitamin D, which regulates the exchange of trace elements in the body – calcium, magnesium, phosphorus. The main question is when and how much to take sun baths. The experts unanimously consider the first term the most important one- at that time organs and systems of a little man are formed, so do not sunbathe under the direct rays of the sun. The second and third trimester regime is softened: you can enjoy sunrays, but just from 11.00 to 17.00. Afternoon hours are «dangerous» for pregnant women.
Research proved that the overdose of ultraviolet radiation reduces immunity, resulting the increased risk of intestinal infections (dysentery, dysbacteriosis). Playing with the sun may have more rapid effects: cause sunburn, fainting, and premature delivery. To avoid burns, you can use sunscreen. While choosing the «protection» pay attention, whether it is permitted to pregnant women. If, despite precautions, the skin is red, take immediate actions:
Apply cream with chamomile, mixed with 5-6 drops of mint oil.
The product has cooling and anti-inflammatory properties.
Make a cold compress with milk, kefir or sour cream.
Put used boiled tea bags on the skin. Tannin acid contained in the black and green teas helps to remove the redness and burning.
Summer spots
It happens when in response to the sun the pregnant skin covers with pigment spots. Their appearance depends on the individual characteristics of the skin, which in turn depends on the liver and the quantity of pigment. In sunny days it is better to wear wide-brimmed hat or take an umbrella. Be cautious in the selection of bleaching creams, designed to deal with such issues: as a rule, they contain mercury. You need only products of vegetable origin. Ideally, these creams should be applied to the skin for about 2 hours before they undergo the sun. And then use it after bathing.
Without fanaticism
Some future mothers lying on the beach, prefer to «hide» their tummy from heat in cool sand. Experts consider it unnecessary, and even somewhat dangerous. First, it will not save the child from overheating, and secondly, it’s more useful if all parts of the body are in the same microclimate.
Use Of Alcohol During Pregnancy
Everybody knows about the harmful effects of alcohol to uterus and postnatal development of the organism of the child. Thus, even in ancient times it was believed that Hephaestus – the only cripple among the Olympian gods – was conceived by Zeus when he was drunk. Aristotle described drinking as a voluntary madness. He claimed that constantly bibulous or feeble-minded women, in most cases, have children with similar defects. Helios thought that if the drunk man has a child, it is unlikely that the baby «will have a good head». Carthage and Sparta had laws prohibiting married couples to consume alcohol before they are 30 years old. This was done to avoid conception while intoxicated.
Future parents should be aware that in certain periods of pregnancy effects of alcohol is especially dangerous for the body of the child. The period of extra-uterine development (7-8 days after fertilization)is the most vulnerable, as the impact of negative factors, including alcohol, can cause serious injury to eggs. In the early period (from 3 to 6 weeks of intrauterine development) the development of organs and systems of the embryo takes place. And each system is developed in a strictly defined period of time. For example, a 17-38th day after fertilization occurs the development of heart, at the 18th day – the nervous system, a 36-180th day – the genitals, etc. Use of alcohol or other toxic substances during the active formation of systems and organs of the developing embryo may contribute to abnormal deviations in those organs and systems.
Alcohol syndrome fetus and Pregnancy
Prolonged effects of alcohol leads to oxygen starvation in the developing organs of the body. As a result of late development of the brain, its mass decreases, pathologic changes occur in the liver, the skeleton of the head, activity of blood-forming organs and a number of enzymes is reduced. There are many changes on the part of almost all organs and systems of the fetus. With chronic use of alcohol during pregnancy in the future the newborn will have some combination of defects of physical and mental development, which in medical practice is known as fetal alcohol syndrome.
The main cause of the fetal alcohol syndrome, as demonstrated by scientific evidence, is a violation of chromosome – the damage of genetic structures of cells. They are not inherited from parents, but may appear under the influence of alcohol.
Alcohol fetal syndrome is characterized by four groups of disorders: pre-and post dystrophy, craniofacial disorders, abnormalities of organs and systems, leading to various deformities, and damage to the various divisions of the brain.
Please note an important fact: the safe dose of alcohol for pregnant women does not exist! That is why every woman should know that only a complete abstinence from any alcohol during pregnancy (no matter whether it is beer, alcohol is considered an easy or natural grape wine) can guarantee the birth of a healthy baby!
Exercises Are Useful For Pregnant Woman!
According to some researchers exercise during pregnancy affects positively not only on the health of the mother, but also the growth of the child.
The group of scientists from Kansas City, suggest that physical exercise during pregnancy positively affect the development of cardiovascular and nervous systems of the embryo. 26 pregnant women took part in the study the results of which will be presented at the American Physiological Society conference in New York.
Specialists used a safe device during the study, which helped to see with the cardiovascular system of women and the development of the fetus help of electromagnetic waves condition. The motility and development of the respiratory system of the embryo were also recorded. Women participating were in 36-38 weeks of pregnancy between the ages of 20-35 years.
It turned out that pregnant women, who regularly performed moderate-intensity exercise such as aerobics, for at least 30 minutes a day, helped the fetus to develop with the best indicators of cardiovascular and respiratory systems. This gives a reason to believe that a child born to a woman doing regular exercises are healthier than babies born to mothers who do not engage in physical exercise, say researchers.
