Baby Care Travel Tips

Below are some great baby care tips for traveling with your newborn baby! First, let us note that it’s never an easy feat to travel with a new baby. Babies are creatures of habit and traveling takes them out of their environment into new places that babies are not used to seeing. However, it’s important that parents don’t give up their lives and continue to travel as needed, but in doing so, take proper care of their baby to ensure the best trip for them and their baby.

One of the toughest travel items to deal with when bringing your baby along is not having

Baby Care Tips for traveling on the plane.

  • Bring enough baby food on the plane in case the plane gets delayed. The most important baby care tip and primary care item is ensure you have enough food to get through the entire flight. You should also remember to bring extra food in case your plane gets stuck on the runway or the trip takes longer than expected and you may not have access to baby food.
  • As your ears will pop on the plane, you can imagine the pressure your baby might feel in their ears on the plane. Therefore, it’s important to let your baby suck on something to help ease the pressure in their ears. We have seen good progress with feeding the baby on the way up and also start to feed your baby again as you descend. If you are not able to feed your baby, or it’s not the right feeding schedule for your baby, then you can let them suck on a pacifier or anything to get them sucking and ease the pressure of ascending and descending on the plane.
  • Many parents will sit with their baby in their lap and this is fine as you can save money of having to buy another seat. However, having the baby in their own seat will make the flight much more easy for you and your baby, especially for longer flights. A good baby care tip could be to bring the car seat on the plane and put the baby in the car seat next to you in the seat you have for the baby. Your baby is used to the car seat and the movement on the plane may relax them as does the car, and in turn the baby may sleep throughout the entire plane ride. If your baby doesn’t normally sleep in your arms, then it may be tough for your baby to adjust and fall asleep in your arms on the plane. They may scream and get upset as your baby wants to be comfortable too, and missing their normal sleep routine location may cause problems for your baby and make for a more restless flight. If you don’t have your own seat for your baby, then you can always ask the flight crew or flight attendant if they can shift some people around to open up a seat next to you for your baby. While this doesn’t always work, you might be surprised how often it does as the passenger sitting next to you may rather sit in a different location, then potentially deal with an unhappy baby next to them during the flight

Hope you enjoyed these baby care travel tips and good luck flying on a plane and traveling with your newborn baby!

How To Protect Your Newborn From Illness

Signs of Illness:

Does your baby look different? Has your baby’s skin lost color, or is it rosy? Are there any rashes?

Does your baby have a fever? Any of these changes could indicate illness. If you notice any of them, or other worrisome changes in your baby, call your baby’s medical professional.

Has your baby been acting unusual? Is your baby crying more often than usual? Is your baby more short-tempered than usual? Is your baby sleeping more or less than usual? Does your baby seem worn-out?

Has your baby’s eating habits or stools changed? Has your baby thrown up more than once, or has thrown up harshly? Are her stools more hard than usual? Are her stools more runny than usual? Do you need to change more dirty diapers than usual, or not much at all, meaning she isn’t urinating as much as she should? Check for any changes in color in her urine or stools. Anything like this could mean she is sick or dehydrated. You should contact her medical professional as soon as possible.

Does your baby’s breathing seem different? Does your baby have trouble breathing? Does your baby sound congested? You can check by putting your ear to her back, and listen to her breaths. Is your baby coughing?

Steps you and others should take to decrease the chance of your newborn getting sick:

1. Wash your hands before handling your newborn.
2. Wash your hands before and after a diaper change.
3. If anyone is sick, they should keep their distance.
4. Newborns need at least 3-7 baths per week. They don’t need as many as we do simply because they don’t get as dirty as we do, and they have resilient skin.
5. Keep their play toys clean by washing with soap and warm water. Make sure they are thoroughly dry, and clean them often, depending on how often your new baby uses them.
6. Keep their sleeping area clean. Wash their crib with soap and water. You might also want to change their sheets daily, because of the way newborns drool and spit up.
7. All bottles should be sanitized before the baby uses them.
8. Pacifiers should be cleaned continuously throughout the day with soap and water.
9. Be sure to keep your baby warm and cozy in the winter, and comfortably cool in the summer.
10. A humidifier or air filter placed in their bedroom can help keep the air they breathe clean as they sleep.

Necessary Things for Newborn

pictureNow you can rarely meet young parents who, because of superstition, do not buy any items before the birth of a baby. Practice shows that it is better to buy everything in advance, than rush to the shops, pharmacies in search of the necessary.
So what you need to buy for your future crumbs? Before you make a list of things for a newborn you need to answer the following questions:
Where will your baby sleep: with you or separately?
If you are against co-sleeping, one of the first items on the checklist will be a cot. This contains the following:
Mattress;
linens – sheets, pillowcases and duvet cover. It is better to prepare three sets in case one is in the laundry, one – wearing, and the latter will remain on the safe side;
blankets – one shelter, the second wrap at home and on the walk;
large size oilskin;
pillow – newborn doesn’t need it. Instead, put a folded diaper. You can buy a special pillow for a stroller with an indentation for the head. In any case, you can use it not earlier than three months.

GM033GB_Newborn_Baby_Gift_BasketDo you plan to use diapers?

I think that this is one of the main important things for the baby. Even if you are opposed to diapers, you may need them in situations where they are simply indispensable. For example, you will not make it in time to wash soiled nappies. When my son was born, I had to change diapers at night every half an hour. After a sleepless week, I realized that the diaper at night is my salvation. We will not argue about the benefits and harms of diapers, let everyone decide for herself.
Someone has to wash 20-30 diapers a day, someone will be convenient to use disposable diapers for a walk, not to disguise the baby on the street.

If you choose the option without the use of diapers, there is a counter-question: Will you swaddle a newborn or just dress him/her in sliders?

Previously, children in compulsory were swaddled up to 2-3 months, but now many babies are dressed in shirts with the sliders. I think it is difficult to decide which option is better. Even if you do not want to swaddle the baby, you can put it under the child, when he/she lies on the changing table, in a stroller, on your bed or sofa.

At what time of year your baby is born?

In the cold season, the portfolio is slightly different (warm jackets, pants, hats).

etsy_thingsClothing:

1) diapers – On average (again, it all depends on the season, from that, will you wash them once or twice a day) you will need 10-15 warm diapers, 10-15 thin and a minimum 20 gauze diapers.
2) vests, shirts – 4 thin, 4 warm. The first one will be comfortable with the closed-sleeved vests for baby not to scratch itself. You might also like T-shirts. They should be fitted with clasp at the shoulder.
3) Romper – 4-6 thin and thick. It’s better to choose the model, fastened on the shoulders with two levels of buttons.
4) cap, hat – I bought 3 cap. When my son was born, I was surprised how quickly they became small. In the first month of each week I had to change the cap. So prepare 2-3 caps of several sizes. Depending on the time of year take warm or thin cap for a walk.
5) socks – a pair of warm and a pair of thin socks will be enough.
6) panties – In summer kids will feel comfortable wearing panties, putting them in gauze diapers. In general, newborns should not use clothing with elastic bands on the tummy, but the 2.3 month kids conveniently record gauze diaper with pants.
8), blouse, pants – thin for summer, warm for winter.
9) bib

3269224122_e24e9c9f51Medicine chest:

1) Thermometer – for water.
2) Cotton wool, cotton sticks – to clean the nose and ears.
3) Baby wipes – they are convenient to use during a walk and a visit.
4) Febrifuge – will help not only in the event of illness, but after vaccination, if the temperature of newborns rises. It is better to use this medicine in the form of candles.
5) Medicine from colic, gas formation – Up to three months, babies are often plagued by gas, colic and cramps. Most moms use “Espumizan”, “smectic” or simply dill water.
6) Permanganic acid, hydrogen peroxide, – potassium permanganate is added to water for bathing, and peroxide is applied to navel of the newborn.
7) Baby oil – They are used during the massage.
8) Pipette

Other accessories:

1) Oilcloth – One big – in bed, a smaller one – in the stroller and changing table.
2) Bottle, brush – for washing.
3) Pacifier – And here opinions vary: someone flatly refuses to teach the crumbs to the nipple, someone successfully uses it to soothe a crying baby and put to bed. In any case, one nipple will not be difficult to buy.
4) Bathroom accessories – bath and towels. You can buy a small tub; you can bathe in a regular bath, with less water. From a small bath baby will grow quickly. But its advantages are that the child can swim in the children’s room, next to the changing table. It is better to have a large towel for swimming (120×120).
5) Baby soap – for bathing.

214323-main_FullWhen choosing clothes try to buy the ones made of natural fabrics. Coveralls, t-shirts and blouses are better to be a little bit larger.

You can buy a changing table, and can turn the usual coffee table into a changing table, covering it with an old blanket and oilcloth.

Here is a sample list of things for a newborn. It can be changed depending on your viewpoints. Someone prefers T-shirts, some diapers and vest, someone will actively use children’s cosmetics, soap and baby oil. In any case, the main choice is yours. We wish you and your future baby health!

Clothes for Infants

BabyClothing1Since the tests for pregnancy have yielded positive results, future parents, especially mothers, begin to look for glamorous clothes for their unborn children.
Clothing for newborns can be purchased in a set, which will likely have a blanket for baby. But as not all clothes are used equally often, it is better to save up and buy a few interchangeable things. Usually parents buy some jackets, sliders (pants with straps), bonnet (hats), and coveralls.
The clothes should be easily removed and dressed; the child should feel free in movements. It should be noted that babies badly own their own bodies, and will not be able to change position or show that the clothes are inconvenient.
The first clothes of the newborn should be very simple, without buttons and bows which are suitable for older children. It is necessary to draw attention to the choice of materials, color, and do not forget about the washing features of clothes.

Material

Newborn clothes should be made from good natural fabrics that are suitable for child’s gentle skin. For example, cashmere, cotton, linen. The most suitable material for kids is fine cotton jersey. It does not limit movements, as well as is hygienic. Rough, even natural materials (corduroy or denim) can rub the child’s skin.

Should the clothes be big?

Sometimes parents, wishing to save, buy bigger clothes, believing that the child will wear them longer. Of course, you need to cloth the child, so that clothing does not embarrass his/her movements, but at the same time they should not be too large, otherwise the baby can get out of it. In hot weather, he/she will feel comfortable in shorts and socks (which, unfortunately, most children quickly learn taking off). In cooler weather, the clothes can be warmer, as the parents seek a compromise between convenience for the movements and the number and thickness of clothing. Nowadays, there are a lot of new solutions and fabrics to clothe the child, which are not only warm but also convenient.

BabyClothing2
How to avoid wrong size?

Clothes for babies should be selected for its growth and age. In general, the clothes should have information about age and height. The average height of 3 to 6 month babies is 60-68 cm, 6 to 9 months is 68-74 cm, while 9 to 12 months is 74-80 cm.

Washing

When washing, machine or hand, parents always need to follow the instructions, and then all children’s belongings will maintain their color, shape and structure of the original fabric for a long time.
It is advisable not to use powders with biomaterials; they can irritate the skin of the child. Now there are a number of detergents and mitigations for children’s clothing, which do not cause allergies. Clothes should be well dried and pressed, only then it can be worn again.
Do not forget that babies in their first year of life quickly discolor their clothing. Decorative details make the process of washing, ironing clothes difficult, demanding much effort and care that is often burdensome for young mothers.

Details

Pockets are usually convenient, but for older children. Newborns have nothing to put in them. They can even have dangerous elements: beads, buttons that a child can tear off and swallow.

BabyClothing3Psychology of color selection

When creating garments for babies designers take into account advice of doctors and psychologists. It’s usually recommended to choose clothes of delicate pastel shades. The combination of bright, saturated color is extremely harmful to the eyes and the nervous system of the newborn. Especially dangerous is the combination of red and white colors. Therefore, many designers of clothing for toddlers prefer cream-beige and coffee-sand tones.

Beginning from a year, parents already need to think about the development of the child’s taste. Therefore, you need to be even more attentive with a choice of color combinations of clothes for your baby.
Each weather has its clothes

When the room temperature is above 22 degrees the child may be in a thin cotton underwear. With each subsequent lowering of temperature by 2-3 degrees should be added a new layer of clothing.

Thus, with 21 degrees there should be a fine linen, and q lightweight cotton dress on your child. At 17-20 degrees – cotton linens, a thick flannel or a knitted dress with long sleeves, as well as wool socks. At 15-16 degrees put on a cotton underwear, a light cotton dress, or a semi-woolen suit with long sleeves, and woolen socks.

Baby Feeding

mother-feeding-babyWhat does feeding mean for a child?

He/she knows more than you think. The child as any person has the instinct of hunger. If he/she is chronically malnourished, he/she will shout, demanding more milk. Believe him/her and talk to the doctor. If he/she does not drink his/her usual portion, do not insist.
Consider that he/she wakes up because he/she is hungry. He avidly catches teat (or dummy) with his/her mouth. Sucking is a serious work for the child. He may even sweat of an effort. If you take away dummy before he/she is satisfied, he/she will indignantly shout. When he/she drinks as much milk as he/she needs, he/she will fall asleep again. Even while sleeping, he/she makes sucking movements, as if he/she is fed. All this constitutes the fact that food is the main joy in his/her life. He/she gets the first view of the life from the environment in which he/she is fed. The first presentation about the people he/she receives from the person who feeds him/her.
If mother constantly insist that the child drinks more milk than he/she wants, he/she will gradually lose his/her appetite. He/she will try to avoid this, sleeping more than before or will protest. If he/she continues in this way, his/her joyful curiosity of life will disappear, as he thinks to himself: “Life is a struggle. These people do not give me rest. I must fight to defend myself”.
So, do not make your child eat more than he/she wants. Let food be a pleasure for him/her and then he/she will feelfeeding-indicatorsthat you are his/her friend. This is very important for the development of his/her self-confidence and cheerfulness, which are very important in the first year of life.
The instinct of sucking. Newborn sucks vigorously for two reasons. First, he/she is hungry, and second, he likes sucking. If you feed him/her enough, but do not give him/her an opportunity to satisfy the demand of sucking, he/she will suck his/her fist or thumb, or clothing.
During the first days after birth, children are losing weight.
Some parents are overly concerned about this phenomenon. It seems unnatural and dangerous to them. They also hear about dehydration in the case of dramatic weight loss. Do not worry. If such a thing happens, the newborn immediately can recover by drinking some water.

Newborn Feels When Parents Are At Loggerheads

baby_01It’s very easy for the child to determine when his parents swear, quarrel, conflict: the expression of his face becomes troubled. You can argue that it is impossible that a newborn can perceive all the nuances in the relationships between the parents. Meanwhile, he has sensitive mind, which reacts to every external change.

Think about what will happen to the child, who watches ugly squabbles of his parents every day. Of course, he doesn’t understand the significance of legal wrangling, but the anger and swearing necessarily affect his feelings, for all its merits. And it is not surprising that a child grown up in an atmosphere of hostility, becomes a dark and intense person.

Eyes or nose are transferred to your child to inherit, and the expression of his face – is a mirror which reflects the relationship in the family.

As a child growing up in an atmosphere of alienation and hostility to kindergarten and school, the germs of future misery and destruction become obvious.

Analysis of the many crimes committed by teenagers, shows that in the early years of their lives they spent in dysfunctional families.

It is not necessary to do something special to promote the early development of your child. Best to start – is to create a harmonious relationships between husband and wife and good psychological atmosphere at home.

Newborns Feel Constant Hunger

newborn11During the first few hours after the birth the child has a strong starvation and receives energy from its own cells. This is the conclusion of Japanese researchers from the Tokyo Institute of Medical Research.

The characteristics of metabolism of newborn my shat, the scientists found that in the first few hours after birth – when a newborn baby has not received food through the placenta and umbilical cord, but still does not drink milk – the rate of decay in the reactions of his organism increases in several times. Researchers failed to prove that this is due to activation of so-called autofagotsitoza – acquisitions of their own cells. During this process, cellular components break down into elements, especially simple carbohydrates and amino acids, which are spent on construction of new proteins and lipids, must be in the “unusual” conditions of the newborn.

“From what we observed in mice immediately after birth the newborn is in a position similar to strongest hunger – described in an interview” Air Force “Dr. Noboru Mizushima, the head of the study. – This state lasts from a few tens of minutes to several hours . We do not yet know whether the same thing with a newborn child, although it can be assumed that a phase autophagia occur all mammals. “

It should be noted that the results obtained by researchers are not only academic but also some practical value. It is possible that sooner or later, doctors learn to control the duration of the stage autophagia children (unless, of course, they have it) and thus, for example, reduce the chance of developing neonatal metabolic disorders.
