Taking great care of your baby can be easy at times and also very tough at times. It’s important to stay level headed and know there will be ups and downs to being a parent. It will never be perfect, so all you can do is try your best and ensure the safety, healthiness, and happiness of your baby and your family.

Here are some baby care tips for a healthy and happy baby.

Ensure your baby is properly fed. It’s good that your baby feels he/she is eating enough food, milk, or formula so your baby is not fussy through out the day. Overfeeding your baby may cause gas and upset stomachs so getting know your baby’s que’s for when they are full or when they are finished with their bottle will be important to keeping their gas levels down. If you do have a gassy baby, always properly burp your baby and make sure to get a good burp from your baby especially before putting them down to sleep. If not, your baby may be uncomfortably when sleeping and tend to spit up more often.

Ensure your baby has proper sleep. Sleep training can be one of the toughest moments of your babies first year of life, so prepare for some good nights and some bad ones. When your baby has proper sleep, he will also tend to be less fussy and a more happy baby overall. Try the sleep train methods with letting your baby cry for a little and then stopping in to them know your there. Then, let your baby cry a few more minutes longer and stop back in again. Try to leave your baby in the crib and soothe them there… If your baby can learn to self-soothe in the crib, then the baby won’t really on your to pick them up all the time. Therefore, leaving the baby in the crib and trying to put back to bed there can help your baby. Another good time for nap time is put your baby to nap in the crib as opposed to a bouncer or a pack and play. Getting the baby used to sleeping in the crib will make them more comfortable in the crib. If your baby takes short naps, sometimes let your baby wake up and do their thing in the crib and then see if they put themselves back to sleep on their own before you step back in.

Ensure there is proper playtime and activity. Keeping your baby stimulated is a very important part to your baby care development. If you let your baby lounge around all day and never take them anywhere, they will tend to get more fussy, but enrolling your baby in classes such as swim classes, music classes, baby gym, and more classes to interact with teachers and other babies will keep your baby stimulated and make them more happy during the day and also make your ques for sleep much more visible. If your baby is overly tired from a swim class, you will definitely know it, but if you are home all day with no activity for the baby, you may mistake a tiredness at home for being hungry.

Good luck and hope these baby care tips will help you maintain a happy and healthy baby!

Today’s Baby Care update pertains to Rice Cereal. Rice Cereal is your babies first introduction to solid foods. Typically, you should start feeding your baby Rice Cereal around 4-6 months. While Rice Cereal is not mandatory, it’s definitely a great way to get your baby familiar with eating solid foods and it’s also important that your baby becomes more accustomed to eating with a spoon!

It can take your baby a few tries to start to enjoy rice cereal, as he/she won’t be eating the cereal as if it’s Frosted Flakes right off the bat. It’s good to stick to it, as it can help in a myriad of ways. For one, as we mentioned it can help with them getting used to solid foods. It can also help make your baby feel a little more satisfied from the food and potentially sleep a bit longer. Some doctors say to give your baby some rice cereal in between his/her last feed of bedtime, which is a great way to care for your baby.

For the first babies rice cereal feed, you can take one tablespoon of rice cereal and roughly 4-5 tablespoons of formula/breast milk to make your rice cereal. You will notice the rice cereal has more of a milky texture and doesn’t look like oatmeal, as this is normal and it’s better this way as it’s easier for your baby to digest.

In the beginning of your babies life, good baby care starts with a transition to rice cereal before introducing your baby to solid foods.

When you have a newborn baby, you will be very busy feeding your baby every 3-4 hours. There is nothing more helpful than to mark down your feeding times onto a baby feeding chart. The baby feeding chart will help you take great care of your baby by managing your baby’s feeding schedule and also your baby’s food intake. Proper Baby Care starts with understanding how much food to feed your newborn baby. Typically, you are supposed to feed your baby 2.5 ounces times the baby’s weight, for each day of feeding. Therefore, if the baby is 10 pounds, you will geed your baby 25 ounces per day. Please note that this baby care feeding formula is just a guide to how much you should feed your baby. Your baby may want to eat less or more food, but it’s definitely a good guide to get your going.

Having a schedule for your baby is very important for not only your baby, but also for your sanity! A baby with a well-balanced schedule will sleep better and also be less fussy during the day. The best practice for a baby care schedule is feed the baby every 3-4 hours around the same time each day. A sample feeding schedule could be at 6am, 9am, 12am, 3pm, 6pm, 11pm. While you don’t have to stick to the same exact schedule time each day, it’s important to stay somewhat close to the schedule so your baby knows what time of day it is, and will an easier time going to bed at night.

Also, if you setup a schedule with your baby and then veer off course, it will be much easier to get back on the schedule if the schedule has been setup and in place for a while. However, if you have no schedule and you just happen to feed your baby whenever the baby is hungry and put the baby to bed whenever you think the baby is tired, you will get thrown off course easily and may be prone to tantrums and trouble with your baby sleeping.

Setting a good schedule from the start will be a great way to manage your life as well as your baby care needs.

Anyone who’s sat with a teething baby can tell you there’s no surefire way of helping a baby go to sleep. For exhausted parents during the day, getting a child to sleep through the night is vital. After months of nursing, you can begin weaning your child at night, but if you start before your baby is ready, you’ll be waking to the hungry screams of an infant. Experiment with sleeping habits and routines to find what works. You can’t make schedules for sleeping babies, but you can note patterns in the times your baby is most likely to be sleepy.

After the first six months, night weaning is an option. Check with your pediatrician.

Create the Right Environment
You can’t train a child to sleep through the night, but you can make sure conditions are right for sleeping. The room should be quiet, dimly lit, warm enough but not stuffy. You may unwind by rocking, singing, a warm bath or by lying together on your bed or couch. Modern toys and bed options promise to put the baby to sleep for you, but you also need a loving routine. You can incorporate the breathing or singing teddy bear into your child’s nighttime, but first create the security and calm that helps your infant sleep.

Change Your Own Plans before Trying to Change Your Child
Sometimes a baby won’t go to sleep because he just isn’t tired! Parents may try to get a baby to sleep because they’re wiped out, or have a meeting or need to take an important call, but these attempts will fail if the baby isn’t sleepy. To maximize your child’s chances of sleeping through the night, arrange your own schedule around the times your baby sleeps naturally. If you’re breast feeding, you may find you child dozes off after the second feeding of the day, but is wide awake for the third. Plan your free time after the second feeding. Change your own plans before trying to change your baby’s instincts: you can reason and plan, but your baby can’t.

When Do Babies Sleep through the Night?
Some babies start sleeping all night at around five or six months: others will wake frequently even once they’re toddlers. The child’s temperament has something to do with it: some kids are more restless and more easily awakened than others. Some children always struggle with sleeping, and unfortunately, the more stressed parents become by not getting any sleep of their own, the more turmoil is created in the child. Get as comfortable as possible, and wait it out.

Routines and Crying It Out
Creating habits around bedtime helps your child learn to wind down: a routine of a snack, a story, a cuddle and a song sets the expectation that now is the time for resting. Taking turns with your partner to put the baby to bed means you can spell each other from night to night, and your child won’t associate only one of you with going to sleep. The more people who can successfully put the baby to bed, the better!

Some experts have advocated letting the baby “cry it out”, and for some babies, this works. You put the child down and leave the room; the baby cries for a few minutes and then drifts off to sleep. But some children become more and more upset: when this happens, he can work himself into a rage. If your baby cries for more than ten minutes after being put down to sleep, you will have to try another tack.

And most of us don’t think why many moms don’t do it.

Do you ever think about working moms? One of the challenges of going back to work after baby is breastfeeding. If they don’t know the proper way or arrangement time of breast feeding then their baby may go into weak health condition. But following a proper way, if you’ve gone back to work or school full time, you can still breastfeed your baby. Talk to your employer before your baby is born. Request your employer to provide break times and private space to express milk. In various working places there have special place and scope for breast feeding. If breastfeeding at work is not an option for you, there are a variety of breastfeeding alternatives available.

* If you live very close to your work, or if you have a relative near your place of working, you can breastfeed your baby during your lunch hour and keep bottles of milk for other feedings throughout the day.
* You can find a day care centre near your place of service. And can do the same things.
* If these two are not possible then you must need preservation of your milk.
1. Buy a breast pump. This will give you the suppleness to maintain your milk supply and also feel connected to your baby even when you’re away. Electronic pumps can be a great choice. One of the most important savings you can create if you are going to carry on breast feeding while working is in a good breast pump. You can store this milk in the refrigerator.
2. Fresh refrigerated breast milk can be used for up to 48 hours after its expression. Don’t waste it by leaving it out at normal temperature.
3. Make it warm before feeding, but never use a microwave oven to defrost breast milk.
4. Throw away any defrosted and warmed breast milk that the baby doesn’t drink.
5. Try to regulate your timetable in order that you are pumping at approximately the same time every day. This will assist to prevent leakage at mistimed times when you are in the office.
6. But always keep in mind, feed infants with expressed milk using a clean and sterilized bottle.
* After returning home, breastfeed your baby as soon as possible

Food allergy is an allergic reaction to some specific food. Today’s all parents are concerned about food allergies of their children. In recent year we have seen an increase in the susceptibility of allergies. About 4 out of 100 children have a food allergy. Statistic reports that, approximately 6%t of young children and 3 to 4% of adults in the United States have a food allergy.

How to detect it?
The development of any allergic reaction occurs when the body mistakes something like a food or pollen as a harmful and dangerous attacker. If your kids appears upset for no obvious cause or has unexplained areas of itchiness to the skin, then possibly the baby has a food allergy. A true baby food allergy can only be diagnosed by a medical professional, such as your child’s doctor or specialists. This is done by performing a skin test or blood test.

One dilemma new moms face is how are they going to feed their new babies. There are two types of baby care feeding, breastfeeding and bottle feeding. It is wise for the mom to decide before the baby is born because nutritionists come to your room the day you are admitted to find out if you are going to breast feed. If your answer is yes, then they will send a breastfeeding coach to your room.

The breastfeeding coach supplies you with information on how to breast feed your baby so that you are a little prepared when baby is born. This information shows you different types of positions to hold the baby so that it is more comfortable for you when feeding.

1) The football position – This is when you hold the baby in one arm in the manner that football players hold the football when they are running with the ball. If you are right handed, then you hold the babies head with the palm of your hand. Your right arm will be under their back and their feet will be behind your arm. Your left hand to hold the breast in position so that you can lunge (my choice of words) the baby’s head carefully onto the breast so that the mouth is around the areola.

It is much more comfortable to place a pillow under your arm and the baby resting on the pillow (in newborn stage) before you start breastfeeding to prevent your arm from getting tired.

2) Cradle Position – This is when you hold the baby with the bend of your arm under their head and their body up against yours. Their stomachs should be placed up against your stomach with the entire body aligned straight in the same direction to minimize discomfort. It is easier to do this in a chair so that you can rest your arm (with the baby in it, of course) on it.

3) Cross Cradle Position – This is just like the cradle except you are holding the baby with the other arm. Instead of holding the baby in the right arm on the right breast, you will be holding the baby with your left arm on the right breast. This gives you more head control to make sure the mouth is carefully around the areola when feeding.

4) Tailor – This is when you hold the baby across your lap normally (for older kids) with right arm behind head and them feeding on right breast. Something like cradle but with older kids.

5) Lying down – This is the “lazy” position (again my own words). You lay on your side, let’s say the right side, and baby is lying right next to you. This makes it easier to direct your breast into babies mouth correctly. It also eliminates having to hold the baby during feeding.

Breastfeeding is the recommended baby care feeding because you are giving the sweet baby all the necessary natural nutrients that help fight certain immune diseases. It also gives them a better IQ.

Banana is an amazing and fabulous fruit: it satisfies your hunger, supplies the body with energy and useful substances. It has a convenient natural packaging. Even babies are not allergic to bananas. That’s why banana is often included in baby food. Adults also eat them with pleasure – with the exception of those who have diabetes. Energy value of bananas is 90 kilocalories per 100 grams. Fibers they contain facilitate intestinal transit and contribute to good digestion of sugar and fat. Bananas have balanced vitamins. They contain lots of vitamins E and C, and vitamin B6.

Banana is also a source of trace elements: 100 grams contains 42 mg of magnesium and 348 mg of potassium, the content of the last is comparable only with dried apricots. In addition, tropical fruits are a source of calcium, iron and phosphorus.

Once there were only green bananas, and they slowly turn yellow in

our house. Today bananas reach the desired condition in special places filled with ethylene gas at high humidity and temperature around 13 oC. Here they stay from 4 to 8 days – depending on the established regime, according to the fruit and market needs. Fast mode allows bananas ripen for 4 days, but they are delicious when they are kept for eight days.

Ethylene is not accidentally chosen for ripening of bananas – during the maturation in natural conditions bananas themselves emit this gas.

Buying bananas, we first assess their appearance: color, presence or absence of black spots, the size of the fruit andtheir degree of maturity. It is known that a good banana is yellow, juicy, with shiny and sleek surface and do not have too ribbed form. The black dots on the surface are a sign that the fruit contains maximum sugar. But if the entire surface of the banana is black it’s a bust, indicating that the firm-supplier could not keep their products properly. However, such fruit is harmless and completely edible.

Meanwhile, according to an existing document, bananas are divided into three classes. Best – “extra” should be a minimum length of 20 cm, volume of 3-4 cm. Sometimes they can have the same thickness but be a couple of centimeters shorter. Requirements for the second class: length -14 cm, volume – 2, 7-4, 1 cm, however, usually fruit of all varieties: thick and thin, long and short – are sold at one price.

The basis of the export products is bananas which are used in culinary. Best-known varieties are Cavendish, Gro Michel, Lakatan. Export class bananas must endure all the difficulties of transportation.

Bananas which are used in culinary, are dessert and vegetables bananas. Today small dessert bananas can be found in our own sales network. Their value is considerably less than the traditional: 8-12 cm, thin skin, with the taste of honey, sweet and delicious. For the price they are twice expensive.
All the remaining bananas for us are exotics. There are a variety of bananas with a taste of an apple. There are red bananas, with red-brown, red and burgundy skin and pink core. Vegetable bananas can be boiled, fried, dried, put in the soup instead of potatoes. They are used in chips and even beer production. These fruit contains a lot of starch and is not sweet.

How to bring up and educate a child? This question certainly disturbs each parent. One thing is certain: without love and affection no parent will have success.
Question of balanced nutrition of children from birth is of great importance. It’s enough to say that man can not go to college just because he/she did not receive enough dietary iodine, a woman can not breastfeed because in childhood she ate irrationally. Zinc deficiency in food may cause the boy’s problems of growth and puberty, and calcium deficiency in childhood forms osteochondrosis among adults. The imbalance of diet on selenium can cause dysplasia infarction, cardiac arrhythmias, etc.

- Let’s talk about modern and scientifically sound principles for feeding infants.

- In recent years, the nutritional status of children of the first year of life has changed. In particular, the dates of the introduction of complementary food have been changed. Let me explain that research supported by the recommendations on this issue is provided only in the territory of the former Union institutions – Institute of Nutrition of RAMS. So, if even a few years ago, pediatricians recommended to give infants fruit juices from a month, but today it is considered to be done not earlier than three or four months.

- Why?

- First, a drop of juice gives the baby’s body a miser amount of vitamins and minerals, while significantly increasing the risk of allergic reactions. Secondly, some children have dyspeptic disorders. The digestive system of a baby is not ready for processing anything more than milk, and the early introduction of juice brings much more harm than use. According to the latest recommendations of the Institute of Nutrition of RAMS, the baby is ready to absorb fruit juice and puree only in the third or fourth month of its life.

- Why they have overestimated?

- Previously, we recommended giving children cow’s milk from eight months. Today it turns out that cow’s milk and yogurt cause diapedesic intestinal bleeding, which is often the reason for the reduction of hemoglobin and anemia. So now we recommend adapted milk formula with the number “2″ – so-called “Follow”.

Greatly has changed attitude to the curds. Previously, pediatricians were encouraged to give it to children from five-six months. Today, however, if the child is healthy, you can give him/her curds from a year. Cheese has much protein product, and the child takes enough protein from mother’s milk or infant formula. After all, if the protein in the diet is too much, there is a big burden on the kidneys. Of course, this does not always lead to the development of kidney disease, but nevertheless there is nothing good.

- Young mothers usually can not wait and introduce solid food early. What is wrong with the early introduction of “adult” products?

- Meat, eggs, fish, cheese, whole milk are also protein products, and including them into the baby’s diet should be done slowly. And since there is no universal advice, including complementary food and dishes is better to discuss with the pediatrician. After all, if, for example, a child grows weak or sick often (and in such cases, the body requires much more protein), the diet is calculated individually and completely different than a healthy child’s. Perhaps the doctor will recommend meat, cheese and other products.

What is wrong with the early introduction of complementary foods for a healthy baby? Suppose you decided to give the baby meat or cheese in three or four months. At this time, his/her gastrointestinal tract is not yet fully formed. However, the earliest solid food provokes its rapid development to the detriment of other systems. According to the natural maturation of the child program in three or four months are formed the cardiovascular, but not the digestive system. And once the program is broken, then, sooner or later the child will have heart problems.

The most important is to avoid the universal advice: each child requires individual attention. Choosing the best for your baby timetable for the introduction of complementary food will help a qualified pediatrician. A rough scheme is as follows. If the child is healthy, from birth to four months, he does not need anything except breast milk. In the absence of aggravated heredity for allergy from four months you can begin the introduction of juices. However, if there is an allergic reaction or any disorder, stop it up to six months. Give just a few drops of juice for the first time gradually increasing the quantity and eventually bringing it up to 10hn, where n is the child’s age in months. If in the process of introducing juice still appears mild allergic reaction, you must do two-week break, and then begin with a different juice, watching its portability.

In five months, first you can give your baby vegetable puree. We usually suggest you start with squash or potatoes.Gradually increasing the amount, two weeks later it is brought to 150-180 g. In the puree you can add vegetable oil.

Preparing vegetable purée you need to preserve vitamins.

A month after this comes second complementary food – porridge. Here we recommend rice, buckwheat.

- There is a huge variety of cereals. Which one we should choose? Or is it better to cook ourselves?

- It’s up to you. It is very convenient to use instant, soluble ones which do not require cooking – their preparation takes just a few minutes. In porridge should be added some butter. The recommended amount of cereal in the six to seven months is 150 grams, from eight months to a year – 180-200 g. The mixed porridge of a few grains you can give your child when he/she becomes accustomed to each grain separately.

After six months, you can start feeding your child with meat, fish, hard-boiled egg yolk, curds.
