Cognitive Games for Summer Cottage
In summer, the questions of our children grow in a geometric progression: why the leaves of trees are green, how plants drink water, how volcanoes erupt, etc. To answer these questions will help elementary experiments that do not require special equipment: materials for them are always at hand (and sometimes – under the foot).
Our summer experiments are many. After all, when you comprehend the laws of nature on your own experience – they become closer and more intuitive.
Why leaves are green?
Here is the first question of your young biologist. And indeed – why they are green in summer and yellow in autumn?
Materials:
a piece of foil;
Scotch tape;
diluted alcohol;
cup with thin walls.
What should you do?
Take a leaf of any plant or tree and with the help of scotch tape attach a piece of foil which can be cut in the form of a star or a circle). A week later, you can see the result: an “image” on green leaves. In the place where foil was attached, where the light couldn’t penetrate, leaf has become yellow.
The green leaves have a special substance called chlorophyll. It captures solar energy. When autumn comes, when sun-light becomes less, leaves cannot “receive” feeding, they become yellow, and leaves fall, because they can not feed themselves. “And can we see this chlorophyll?”, – your child asks. You can!
What should you do?
For this experiment you need to put a green leaf with thin walls in the glass and fill it with diluted alcohol. Then, boil some water in a bowl and carefully put this cup in it (something like a water bath). After a while, get the help of tweezers. You’ll see an amazing transformation – the leaf has lost its color, but the alcohol became green, because it dissolves chlorophyll – the green pigment of plants.
By the way, if you conduct this experiment with edible plants (for example, salad or spinach), the result will be a natural coloring (dye) – it can be used to color the cream or sauce. The process can be accelerated, if you crush the leaves, and shake the glass from time to time.
How do the plants drink water?
Perhaps the child has cut some flowers and forgot to put them into water, they’ll fade very quickly as they need water. But to confirm this idea will help a beautiful experience.
Materials:
colored ink (red, blue, green);
several glasses (according to the number of colors);
a few white carnations or celery stalks.
What should you do?
In each cup you need to pour ink of one color, about two centimeters from the bottom. Add water. Flowers or celery stalks should be cut to a length that they are able to stand steadily in the glass. Now, leave them for four hours. What has happened? As always, a miracle: the flowers have become colored. If you look carefully, you can see a thin streak: water color painted them, so they become visible.
If you use celery stalk with flowers, you can make a cut on the stalk with a razor or a sharp knife. There will be visible points of color – they indicate the capillaries – the finest tubes in which water rises from the bottom up.
What is a volcano?
This question was raised my friend’s son after he saw the painting of “The Last Day of Pompeii”. Of course, you can tell that the volcano is formed in the earth’s crust above the magma. When the hot gas pressures on it, magma pushes upward, rocks molten on the road and the explosion erupts at the surface. But all these explanations are not very clear to the child. What if you show it?
Materials:
Plasticine;
one tablespoon of drinking soda (sodium hydro carbonate);
vinegar 3-9% – 40-50 ml;
a few drops of red food coloring (can be replaced with beetroot juice);
one tablespoon liquid for washing dishes.
What should you do?
First divide the available plasticine in halves: roll one half like a round pancake, and another – in a rectangle, which then collapse the cone with a small hole on top and connect it at the bottom of the “pancakes”. To verify the tightness, you should pour the water through the upper hole. The size of the cone should not be very large – 100-150 ml is enough.
Prepare “lava”: mix the liquid for washing dishes, dry soda and dye, pour all of this into the “throat of the volcano”. Now add vinegar. As a result, kickback with allocation of carbon dioxide will begin and what a miracle: boiling foam will come out from the throat.
At the same time, you can tell your child that this model is applied in very peaceful purposes – for example, in the kitchen when his/her mother mixes dough. It makes the dough luxuriant, forming bubbles and tracks. These make old friends – soda and vinegar.
As you can see – nothing is complicated! But how much joy, creativity and discovery…
Advice for Feeding Mothers
Sucking milk out is a useful invention that solves many problems faced by young nursing mothers.
Sucking milk out is indispensable when the kid for some reason does not take the breast. In the case where the child is not taking the breast, usage of milk suckers is practically the only way to support breastfeeding.
If mother, has too much milk, during incomplete squeezing she may have problem with swelling and pains in breasts. In such cases some women use milk suckers to remove excess milk. Mostly breast-feeding is difficult due to cracking nipples. In this case milk suckers provide gentle squeezing without breaking the child from breast milk.
Working women can not do without milk suckers who wish to preserve lactation. By the way, in such cases, there are accessories that will make the process of squeezing more comfortable. For example, Philips AVENT produces a special set, which, in addition to milk suckers include bottles, cooling packs and containers for storage of milk.
So, if you’re one of those mothers who are concerned about these inconveniences, milk sucker will help to solve your problem. It is necessary to ask: what kind of milk sucker should you choose?
The cheapest variant is milk suckers with hand pump, or the so-called “pear”. However, pump milk suckers contain no tanks, so you constantly must transfuse squeezed milk in the bottle which, of course, is unhygienic. In addition, the performance of such devices is very low: slightly better than the manual squeezing.
But the hand model is much more perfect. They are based on stimulation of the breast, which together with massage leads to a natural lactation. The most widely known and accepted milk suckers are Philips

AVENT ISIS. The secret of their success is in the design. This soft silicone cushion with five leaves delicately massages area around the nipple; painlessly stimulating the milk ejection reflex. Philips AVENT ISIS took into account almost everything: it is easy to disassemble, clean and sterilize, and it works silently and is very easy to use. But the main thing is that it decants the milk quickly and completely, without residue, so that Philips AVENT ISIS helps to cope with problems such as “overfilled” breast and cracks on the nipple.
Philips AVENT also suggests similar milk suckers ISIS with the system storage of breast milk VIA. Its key element is sterilely packaged containers. Container joins to milk sucker, and decant the milk directly into it. You can also feed the baby directly from the container, attaching the nipple to it. In addition, the containers are ideal for storing breast milk in the refrigerator or freezer within three months.
However, many women still prefer the electronic models, considering them more “productive”, than the hand ones. Here it’s worth telling you about a new generation of electronic milk suckers from Philips AVENT – ISIS iQ, combining in itself all the advantages of ISIS with microprocessor control. As with the existing electrical milk suckers, ISIS iQ works from the network or from the batteries, but the similarity with its predecessors ends. The main and unique AVENT ISIS iQ is a technology that “remembers” the individual rhythm of squeezing. The required pace can give the woman, because she knows how her child sucks the breast.
Effectiveness of milk suckers Philips AVENT is regularly confirmed by independent clinical studies. Thus, the leading British pediatricians and specialists in child nutrition compared manual milk suckers Philips AVENT ISIS with electrical milk suckers used in maternity hospitals. In this study, 145 women filled in a questionnaire after every use of milk sucker. As a result, it was found that mothers, who use manual Philips AVENT ISIS, decanted the same amount of milk as the women who used the electric milk suckers. The feedback on the Philips AVENT was much better.
In order to select milk sucker, it is important to determine for yourself how often you are going to use it. If you plan to use it every day, then it is logical to buy an electronic milk sucker, because then you do not have to strain your hands. If, however, there is no need to use it regularly, you can choose another variant. You can use a manual piston milk sucker.
How to Entertain a Child on a Road
Summer is a traditional time for traveling. Tickets are bought, things are collected, and you anticipate that very soon under the smell of bitter smoke and dimensional tap of wheels you’ll detract from the pressing problems. But maybe you will travel by car or by plane?
Whatever you choose, of course, you do not forget the entertainment on the road – a couple of detectives, cards, crosswords. However, there is a small snag – you travel with your child. I suspect that detectives can hardly help you in this case. You can’t take bulky table games. First, it is not very convenient, because you are to pay for every extra kilogram. Second, you’ll have some empty centimeter in your suitcase.
The main rule – do not entertain children from the very beginning. After all, first they’ll want to plunge into new experience, study the compartment or the cabin of aircraft, listen to new sounds … But the time will come when your child will be annoyed from these. And if you feel that your child is already tired, it is time to act!
Travel notes
Try to keep a road diary with your child. For this purpose you can use a thick notebook or album for drawing. It’s not terrible, if your child can’t write yet – he/she can draw unusual thing, a bird or a river, car which you met on the way. Then you can paste photographs taken on the road in the diary, or tickets, which will remind of the trip. It is interesting to monitor the movements on the map (it will also become an important part of the diary).
Comments on images and photos can be done in the style of a guide: “Look, what a magnificent panorama of petrol in front of you”. Do not forget to mark the date.
I paint – I paint you
If there isn’t anything interesting on your way, you can simply draw. A small notebook and a set of drawing pencils or felt-tip pen are enough for a young artist! The child may be full of new impressions, and he/she certainly would like to give them shape and color. You can also invent a game related to art.
For example, you can play the game “Nonsense”. Certainly, it is familiar to you from your childhood. You draw a head at the top of the page (humans’, animals’, birds’), indicate where to start the neck and torso, incurve sheet so that your image is not visible, and send it to the child. He/she draws the torso, starting with your marks, and leaves mark where to draw the feet.
We can offer another game-“The enigma of the illustration”. You paint a picture with “nonsense” – for example, while the sun shines in the sky there is also the moon, or a person wears a shoe on one leg, but on the other – boots. The younger the child, the brighter must the “nonsense” be. The task of your baby is to find your mistake. The game develops attention and logical thinking.
Honey, guess yourself…
The best road games are puzzles. There is a wide variety of puzzles. Here are some examples.
Guess my number
One participant keeps in mind any number. Another must guess the number by offering different versions. “20?” “More!” “45?” “Less”.
20 questions
Now think of any object. The participant has the right to ask only twenty questions – “Is it alive or dead?”, “Is it man made or natural?”, etc., then he/she must guess what you have kept.
What was changed?
You should play this game like this: spread a number of any items, toys, pencils, etc. One participant closes his/her eyes for a moment, at this time the other changes their order or removes one or two pieces. The task of the first player is to find out what was changed. You can also play in this way.
But the road gives new opportunities to modify the game, as out of the window of a car or a train, everything changes very quickly. Just turn for a second, and the panorama of the window will be slightly different. Who can find more differences?
Thimbles
This game is extremely exciting. You can play it even with a child of any age. You’ll need 2-3 plastic cups and a small object like hairpins, rubber, figures from Kinder-surprise, etc. For playing this game you can use folding table in an airplane and a train, or back seat of the car.
You must have seen how deftly professionals change the order of the cups. But their task is not very plausible, as they simply fraudulent. We will develop attention and coordination of in an honest way. So we cover the pin with a cup, and change their order. Try to guess where the hidden surprise is.
The important point: give your child the opportunity to hide a thing himself/herself. If your partner is under three, it is better to use colored glasses: color helps to concentrate.

Traveling stories
You can invent the most improbable stories. Just think of the principle on which to build your stories. For example, this:
Unfortunately or fortunately?
Fortunately, we took a clockwork parrot.
Unfortunately, it broke down.
Fortunately, now will be quiet, and we can sleep.
Unfortunately, if you sleep at daytime you’ll have insomnia.
Fortunately, at night you can walk in the fresh air and look at the stars … etc.
My beloved’s name starts with A
This game was described in the famous fairy-tale “Alice in Wonderland”. Choose any letter and create:
My beloved’s name starts with A – Andrew. I love him because he is accurate, I am afraid of him, because he is aggressive. I gave him apricot juice. And he lives in Austria…
Magic bag
Magic bag can replace a simple sock (preferably large one). Place small objects inside the sock-bag (a coin, small toys, rubber, etc.) and let the child feel what he/she holds. This game gives extra tactile stimulation that is not only important for the development of speech, but simply to relax on the road.
And you can make a magic bag in another way. Beforehand, at home choose a suitable bag or beautician and put in it every trifle: buttons, toys from Kinder-surprise, wooden sticks (toothpicks, a countable set), shreds, etc. The young traveler can play with them for a long time, especially if you take part in the parsing of treasures. From the threads and shreds you can make pictures, buttons can be turned into plates for small toys).
After all, you do not need to hurry and with a clear conscience, you can plunge into the wonderful world of children’s imaginations and creativity. Enjoy your trip!
How to Avoid Injuries on Roller-Skates?
In spring and summer you can meet a lot of girls and boys in the street, moving on roller skates of different designs. Young scooters can be seen in the most unexpected places: on a dirt road and carriageway of the street, in parks and on subway escalators, even in the trolley or bus.
Recently, roller-skating has made its run. There is an impression that having roller-skates is a blue dream of every young person. Roller-skates were invented about 240 years ago. Their story began in the second half of the eighteenth century in Belgium. The Belgians made a presentation in the capital of the British Empire. The first indoor skating rink appeared in London only in the first half of the nineteenth century.
Where to skate?
If you bought your child a pair of roller skates, then, before they try them tell your child where to skate:
Do not ride a roller on the ground, on road, in transport or in the cabin of the subway train, as well as on the stairs or on the escalators.
The best place for skating is somewhere in the park, at the stadium or in the yard if the yard is quiet and there are no cars there.
Children of preschool and primary school age should skate under the care of parents.
Where to buy roller skates?
The best place is a special shop or sporting goods department, where the clerk sells the goods and helps you choose the best pair, tells how to brake. When buying, pay attention to the smooth sliding of rollers, reliable fixation of the feet in shoes. It’s better to know the existence of guarantees for the goods and the replacement of parts.
Together with roller-skates it’s better to buy a set of remedies. It should include knee and elbow plates, and preferably a plastic helmet. Now, many manufacturers produce skates together with remedies against injures.
Types of injuries and protective equipment
The list of remedies to prevent the most dangerous types of injury, which children often have when skating:
Bruises and concussion. Helmet can protect your child from these.
Bruises and abrasions of hands and feet, as well as dislocations of the forearm bones and ligaments stretching of joints, are sometimes combined with rupture of ligaments. To protect the child from these injuries, it is necessary to wind elastic bandage round his wrist.
Falling on the elongated arm is often not only a dislocation in the elbow joint, but also a fracture of the neck of the humerus. This is a very dangerous injury: even a qualified traumatologist during surgery not always assembles the joint.
When falling on knees you can have three types of injuries: injury of knee joint, sometimes with subsequent hemorrhage into it; fracture, which can lead to limitation of flexion in the knee joint, meniscus and ligament injury of the arthroplasty. Such injuries are treated long and may last even several years. To prevent these there are knee plates.
Another terrible injury is a fracture. This occurs when the leg is not fixed in the boot and when the child falls the leg turns inside. This injury is treated for a long time, later there should be the restriction of mobility of joints, severe pain when walking and weather changes. To avoid such an injury, you must carefully choose the shoes on the foot and check that shoe ties were securely fastened.
When skating on rollers the child must be assembled and very careful. While skating, they can fall back. This can result in coccyx contusion, pelvic fractures and spinal injuries. Unfortunately, the remedy for avoiding such injures has not yet been invented.
Bottle for Feeding
List of things which a young mother need is really enormous. But a small bottle for feeding is always the first in this list. Even if you are breast-feeding your baby, you’ll need a couple of bottles in order to save squeezed milk. Later bottle will become a loyal assistant when your baby starts trying different juices. And, of course, if you are bottle-feeding your child, the bottle is an essential item.
While choosing the bottle for feeding, please pay attention to the material. Glass bottles, unlike plastic ones are more brittle and heavy. If your child has already grown up, then you’d better choose plastic bottle, as children like throwing objects on the floor, and this subject can be his/her glass bottle.
The form is also important. It is very important to choose a bottle that is easy to clean. For example, the triangular shape is not conducive to perfect purity: the brush simply can not penetrate into all corners.
What about nipple, it is the most responsible part. Here you have to be very legible in the selection. First, the form of
the nipple should remind the maternal breast. But it’s not a secret that it’s difficult for a child to suck milk from breast. But
Milk in a bottle comes easily without much effort. For this reason, many children while trying milk from the nipples become “lazy” and refuse to eat from the breast. If you don’t want to face with this kind of problem you need to buy a “correct” dummy with a broad soft ground and a short nipple. It makes the child perform the same movements as eating from the beast.
Mainly, producers prefer latex or silicone nipple. However, the latex has a sharp smell and taste; it would be preferable to choose silicon. It has no smell and should not cause an allergic reaction.
It’s also worth mentioning that the nipples should be made by same company as bottles: they are of the same diameter, and in the future, this will facilitate the purchase of new “details”.
But the most important parameter for the bottle is the ability to allow air, preventing the vacuum, thereby reducing the probability of occurrence of intestinal colic.
However, some modern bottles solve this problem thanks to the so-called anti-vacuum “skirts”. Among these models the best choice is Philips AVENT bottle. It has a unique system preventing vacuum. In the process of feeding the kid doesn’t outstrip from nipple, as its edge bent without losing form. During feeding, you can also see bubbles on the surface of the milk which proves that the air goes into the bottle.
Bottles Philips AVENT positively affects the well-being of the babies. This was proved by British scientists. Seven years ago, British experts in the field of child nutrition carried out clinical studies, during which they compared the behavior of 60 infants. They were divided into 2 groups, one of which ate from the Philips AVENT bottle, the others – from the standard “tableware”. As a result, it was found that infants who were breast fed or ate from Philips AVENT bottles, suffered from colic much less, and consequently, behaved more calmly.
Philips AVENT bottle itself is made of lightweight and durable plastic. Its form is convenient for both adults and children, and a wide spout ensures easy cleaning and filling of the dry mixture. Another plus is its nipple made of silicone; it has no taste and smell, and it repeats the shape of female breasts.
Finally, after a detailed story about quality, it is worthwhile paying a little attention the quantity. If you give child milk, you need immediately to buy about five bottles in order to have clean at hand. If you are breast-feeding, two small bottles are enough. Later they will be useful for giving a baby water or juice.
How Long Should a Child Sleep?
Mothers often ask themselves this question. Only the child can give the answer. Some children need to sleep a lot, the others just vice versa. If the child is full, well-groomed full, sleeps in a cool room, you can let him/her decide how much to sleep. Most infants, if they are satisfied and their stomach works properly, sleep from feeding to feeding. But some children from the birth sleep for a very short time and not because something is disturbing them. You do not need to take any action.
The older the child becomes, the less he/she sleeps. Usually, the first waking period begins at about 4-5 o’clock in the evening. Each child has his/her sleep schedule. By the end of the first year of life, he/she will sleep 2 times a day. Then he/she will move to a one-time sleep. Only in infancy parents can be sure that the child sleeps as long as he/she wants. In 2 years the child is a complex human being. He/she may sleep less than his/her body demands, because of the excitement and anxiety for other reasons.
Falling asleep. It is advisable to accustom the child to the thought that he/she should sleep immediately after taking a meal. Some children like to play after meal. I will recommend trying to break this habit. Accustom the child to sleep in his bed.
Most children become accustomed both to silence and to moderate noise. Therefore there is no need to walk on tiptoe and whisper. This will only teach him/her to silence, and he/she will wake up from the unexpected sounds. If the child is accustomed to normal household sounds, you can safely take the guests in the next room, watch TV or listen to the radio. You can even enter the child’s room without wakening him/her up.
Baby Feeding
What does feeding mean for a child?
He/she knows more than you think. The child as any person has the instinct of hunger. If he/she is chronically malnourished, he/she will shout, demanding more milk. Believe him/her and talk to the doctor. If he/she does not drink his/her usual portion, do not insist.
Consider that he/she wakes up because he/she is hungry. He avidly catches teat (or dummy) with his/her mouth. Sucking is a serious work for the child. He may even sweat of an effort. If you take away dummy before he/she is satisfied, he/she will indignantly shout. When he/she drinks as much milk as he/she needs, he/she will fall asleep again. Even while sleeping, he/she makes sucking movements, as if he/she is fed. All this constitutes the fact that food is the main joy in his/her life. He/she gets the first view of the life from the environment in which he/she is fed. The first presentation about the people he/she receives from the person who feeds him/her.
If mother constantly insist that the child drinks more milk than he/she wants, he/she will gradually lose his/her appetite. He/she will try to avoid this, sleeping more than before or will protest. If he/she continues in this way, his/her joyful curiosity of life will disappear, as he thinks to himself: “Life is a struggle. These people do not give me rest. I must fight to defend myself”.
So, do not make your child eat more than he/she wants. Let food be a pleasure for him/her and then he/she will feel
that you are his/her friend. This is very important for the development of his/her self-confidence and cheerfulness, which are very important in the first year of life.
The instinct of sucking. Newborn sucks vigorously for two reasons. First, he/she is hungry, and second, he likes sucking. If you feed him/her enough, but do not give him/her an opportunity to satisfy the demand of sucking, he/she will suck his/her fist or thumb, or clothing.
During the first days after birth, children are losing weight.
Some parents are overly concerned about this phenomenon. It seems unnatural and dangerous to them. They also hear about dehydration in the case of dramatic weight loss. Do not worry. If such a thing happens, the newborn immediately can recover by drinking some water.
Multiple Pregnancy
Having twins is not a rare fact, but three, four or more babies who are born at the same time – this is really rare. Many people say that it’s a game of nature. Despite the external attractiveness (birth of two at once – this is great!) the pregnancy can be dangerous for both mother and children. Therefore, a woman with a multiple pregnancy should punctually comply with all the requirements of a doctor.
What is a multiple pregnancy?
Multiple pregnancy occurs with the development of two or more fetuses. The heredity is among the main causes of multiple pregnancy: there are families, where from generation to generation twins and triplets were born.
Multiple pregnancies can happen with the fertilization of two (three, etc.) eggs, and then develop twins of different fetuses. But sometimes a single fertilized egg develops two fetuses.
Fetal egg and its structure
Twins can share one egg with one common membrane (amnion) or a separate membrane for each fetus.
The examination of placenta can show whether twins were one-egg or two. For two-egg twins the presence of individual or contact placenta is characterizing, the septum between amnions has four leaves. For one egg twins a common placenta is characterizing, and the septum consists of two sheets.
Multiple pregnancy can proceed normally, but can often be complicated with miscarriage, premature delivery and toxicity. Even sometimes the following may appear: fatigue, breath shortness, rapid urination, constipation – all of this is due to the significant increase in the size of the uterus.
Development of the fetus is usually the same; the difference in their weight is low. But sometimes there may appear the unevenness of development associated with the presence of anatomizes (bridges) between the vessels of the fetus placenta. With various cardiac intensity the blood supply of one of them is better and because of that the second one will be less developed and may even die. Sometimes such fetus in the form of amorphous is called “paper” fetus.
Location of the fetuses in the uterus may be different, but mostly they both are in the longitudinal position (head down). There are also other options.

Multiple pregnancy diagnosis
Nowadays such a diagnosis is not difficult because the ultrasound lets us clearly hear the heartbeat of each fetus in the 2.5 weeks of pregnancy.
Multiple pregnancy births
Multiple pregnancy births usually occur through natural delivery. But sometimes there occur difficulties during childbirth: weak clan forces due to hyperextension of uterus, hypoxia (insufficient supply of oxygen to tissues)of the fetus, premature detachment of placenta after the birth of a second fetus, late breaking hulls of the second fetus, bleeding.
Assistance during multiple pregnancy childbirth
To control the activities of the uterus and to ease the childbirth anesthesia drugs, removing spasm of smooth muscles of internal organs including the uterus are used.
The fetal bladder of the first fetus is opened, gently and slowly releasing amniotic waters. The period of the expulsion of the first fetus is done in the natural way. But in case there are any complications from the mother or fetus they accelerate the process by using various techniques (e.g., overlaying obstetrical forceps).
After 10-20 minutes after the birth of the first fetus doctors usually reveal the second fetal bladder and give birth to the child and, if necessary, apply special obstetric techniques.
Then they carefully examine to determine their integrity (in the remaining piece of the uterus may bleed) and to determine their one-or two egg origin.
Prevention of multiple pregnancy complications
Multiple pregnant women require careful observation in a clinic. While there are any complications during pregnancy (e.g., toxicity or threat of miscarriage), a woman should be directed to the department of pathology in Maternity Hospital for receiving necessary treatment.
Giving Name to a Child
All cares, worries and suffering associated with your child’s birth, are behind. Question number one: How to name the child? What should you take into consideration while choosing a name? Beautiful sound? A memory? The desire to perpetuate a name of a close relative?
Whatever your promptings are, try, above all, take care of your child’s happy fate, which to a large extent depends on what his/her name will be combined with.
In this case there isn’t any instruction. You are free with your choice. But there are some criteria which are worth following.
1. It will be better if the name is easy to pronounce and can be easily remembered. The name which is difficult to pronounce becomes a hindrance in communication.
2. The name must easily go with the patronymic.
3. Preferably, the name should not make any difficulties while making different forms.
4. It is vital that the name sounds softly and easily, for example: Alexander Vladimirovich, Alexei Mikhailovich. Pronounce these loudly, and immediately feel the difference with the other ones: Stepan Igorevich, Dmitri Stanislavlovich…
The harmonious sound occurs when the stress in the name and patronymic are in the same syllable account. It is desirable to get some nice sounds, in other words, that the combination of the name and patronymic did not have many consonant or vowel sounds.
5. In any case do not call your son like his father, for example: Aleksandr Aleksandrovich, Nikolai Nikolaevich, etc. Repetition of the parent contributes to the development of negative qualities.
Choosing a name is a very responsible activity. They largely determine the fate of your child.
How to Hold a Child
It seems that babies are very fragile and can easily be broken. Everything is not like this. If you hold the child tightly and safely, you will not harm him/her. On the contrary, it will be useful for him/her. Child’s head should be maintained until the neck muscles are strong and he/she can keep it himself/herself. If the child’s head is slightly hanging, it will not harm him/her, but he/she will think that he/she falls, and this will make him/her nervous.
When you take your baby on your hands, do it as slowly as possible. The first time you can feel a small loss of coordination. But soon you will have more confidence, and you can take the child on your hands, not thinking about how to do it better.
If your child has woken up talk to him/her before you take him/her on hands in order not to frighten him/her. Continue to talk to him/her, raising him/her. Make sure your movements are smooth and bold.
• Put one hand under the head of the child, supporting his/her neck with your palm and the head with your fingers, so that the upper part of the back was on the wrist. Put other hand under the lower part of the body of the child, or between the legs, or sides, so that the lower part of the torso was in the palms of your hands and fingers support your lower back. Begin to raise the child, encouraging him/her with both hands.
• Tilt over the child and lift him/her toward you. Now you can keep the child in your arms.
• On Shoulder:
Many parents think that they can keep the child in this way when he cries, is capricious, or sleeping.
Place the child on your shoulder so that his/her body is in an upright position and the head is on your shoulder. Your hand, which had supported the head of a baby, can stay in the same place or support the upper back. Keep the lower part of the child’s body with the other hand. Keep it strong for him/her to feel safe.
There are several ways to keep the child in arms. Put the head of the child on your shoulder; you can change the location of the hands: the hand that supports the head will be located at the bottom of the trunk, and vice versa. Gaining confidence you will see that the baby can also hold with the help of one hand.
While keeping the baby in your arms, you can look at him/her, talk to him/her and sing him/her a song.
With more experience you will find out that your child can hold with one hand, while supporting the lower part of the torso. Thus, the second hand will be free.
